Privacy Policy for Map Canvas

Introduction
Colored Pixels Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”) built the Map Canvas app as a Free app with optional subscription tiers. This SERVICE is provided by Colored Pixels Studio at no cost for the Free Version and with additional features available through Pro and Pro+ subscriptions, intended for use as is.
Throughout this document, “Colored Pixels Studio,” “we,” “our,” or “us” refers to the individual owner/developer operating under the brand name “Colored Pixels Studio” and any affiliated parties who contribute to the development, maintenance, or operation of the Map Canvas app.
This page informs users about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for anyone who decides to use our Service.
By choosing to use our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. The Personal Information we collect is used solely for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible within the Map Canvas app, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
Location Data
To provide the core functionality of our app, we require access to your device’s location data. This location information is used exclusively to:
- Display your current position on Google Maps
Important Information About Location Data:
- Location data is only accessed while you are actively using the app
- We do not maintain any location history
- We do not track your movements
- We do not store your location data either locally or on remote servers unless you explicitly save it as part of creating a map element
- Each time you open the app, it requests fresh location data from your device
- All location processing occurs on your device
- Location data is never shared with third parties except as required to display map functionality
You can control location access through your device settings, though this may limit the app’s core functionality. The precision level of location data collected is determined by your device settings and can be adjusted according to your preferences.
User-Created Content
The app allows you to create and save map elements (circle groups, custom shapes and markers). How this information is stored depends on your subscription tier:
Free and Pro Versions:
- All user-created content is stored locally on your device
- Content is not uploaded to our servers
- Content can be deleted by you at any time by removing the elements or uninstalling the app
- May include any text, labels, or descriptive information you choose to add
Pro+ Version:
- User-created content is stored locally on your device
- With cloud backup enabled, content is also securely transmitted to and stored on our servers
- Cloud-stored content may include: saved map elements, markers, custom shapes, attached images, and app settings
- You can control when backups occur through manual backup options
- Cloud-stored content can be deleted at any time through the app’s settings
- Content deleted from the cloud cannot be recovered
- If you downgrade from Pro+, your cloud-stored content will be immediately and permanently deleted
Subscription Information
For Pro and Pro+ subscribers, we collect and process additional information:
- Payment Information: When you subscribe, your payment information is processed by Google Play (for Android). We do not directly collect, store, or process your payment details such as credit card numbers.
- Subscription Status: We maintain records of your subscription status, subscription type, start and renewal dates, and subscription history to provide appropriate access to features.
- Account Identifiers: To manage your subscription, we use unique identifiers associated with your user account. These do not personally identify you but allow our systems to recognize your subscription status.
- Subscription Analytics: We collect anonymized data about subscription usage, feature engagement, and subscription conversion rates to improve our services. This data is not personally identifiable.
Weather Information (Pro+ Only)
For Pro+ subscribers using weather information features:
- Location for Weather Data: When you request weather information for a specific location, that location data is transmitted to our third-party weather data provider to retrieve relevant weather information.
- Weather Query History: We maintain a record of weather API calls to manage the daily limit (10 calls per day, reset at midnight GMT). This includes timestamps.
- No Personal Weather Profiles: We do not create or maintain personal profiles of weather information requests beyond what is necessary to provide the service and manage API limits.
Image Compression (Pro and Pro+ Only)
For Pro and Pro+ subscribers who attach images to elements:
- Automatic Compression: Images that are attached to elements will be automatically compressed in size.
- Purpose: Image compression is implemented to give users the ability to attach more images while staying within storage limitations.
- Data Collection: We do not collect, analyze, or use the content of compressed images for any purpose other than providing the image attachment service.
- Storage: Compressed images are stored locally on your device for all users. For Pro+ users with cloud backup enabled, compressed images are also stored in your cloud backup.
- No Original Preservation: We do not maintain or store original uncompressed versions of images after compression is applied.
Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:
Each of these services collects and processes data according to their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Advertising
The Free Version of our app includes advertisements provided by Google AdMob, AppLovin, and other advertising partners. These advertisements:
- May use device identifiers and other non-personal information to serve personalized ads
- May collect and use data about your app usage and device to improve ad targeting
- Are governed by the respective privacy policies of our advertising partners
- Can be personalized based on your interests as inferred from your app usage
- May involve the sharing of certain device identifiers and usage data with our advertising partners
- May include location-based advertising if location permissions are granted
AppLovin Specific Information:
- AppLovin may collect and use precise location data (when you grant access to location) to serve location-based advertisements
- AppLovin may collect information about your device, including device identifiers, IP address, and other technical information
- AppLovin may use cookies and similar technologies to track your activity in our app
- AppLovin may share information with its partners and service providers to enhance ad delivery and reporting

While we do not directly access or collect this data, our advertising partners may do so. For more information about how Google AdMob and AppLovin use data, please review their respective privacy policies.
If you upgrade to Pro or Pro+ within the app, advertisements will be removed entirely.
Log Data
In case of an error in the app, we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, app configuration details, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. This information is used solely for the purpose of maintaining and improving app functionality.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the security of your personal information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
For Pro+ subscribers using cloud backup:
- Data is encrypted during transmission to our servers
- Data is stored in encrypted format on our secure cloud infrastructure
- Access to your data is strictly controlled and limited to essential personnel
- We regularly review and update our security practices
- We employ industry-standard backup and redundancy practices
Despite these measures, no system can be guaranteed as completely secure. You acknowledge that you provide your information at your own risk.
Cloud Backup Data (Pro+ Only)
For Pro+ subscribers, our cloud backup service operates as follows:
- Data Storage: User-created content is stored on secure cloud servers with a limit of 200MB per account.
- Data Transmission: Data is encrypted during transmission using industry-standard protocols.
- Data Retention: Your cloud-stored data is retained as long as your Pro+ subscription remains active. If you downgrade or cancel your subscription, your cloud data will be immediately and permanently deleted.
- Access Controls: Access to cloud-stored data is limited to:
- You, via your authenticated Map Canvas app
- Essential Colored Pixels Studio technical personnel for troubleshooting purposes only
- Automated systems necessary for providing the backup service
- Data Use Limitations: We do not access, analyze, or use your cloud-stored content except to provide the backup service to you. We do not share this data with third parties except as required to provide the service (i.e., cloud storage providers).
- Backup Management: Pro+ subscribers can control when backups occur through manual backup options in the app settings.
- Data Deletion: You can delete your cloud-stored data at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, data will be removed from our systems within 30 days.
- Backup Frequency Limitation: Manual backup can be performed only once every 24 hours.
- Device Limitations:
- Backup is tied to only one device at a time
- Restore can be performed only once on a new device or after a fresh install
- If a restore is performed on a new device, the cloud backup becomes associated with that device and all previously associated devices will no longer be able to perform backups
- Storage Limits: Backup will be disabled once it reaches the maximum allowed limit of 200MB.
- Downgrade Impact: If you downgrade from Pro+ to Pro or Free, all cloud data that you have backed up will be deleted at the end of your Pro+ term. If you downgrade from Pro+ or Pro to Free, all Pro and Pro+ related data will be deleted from the cloud as well as your local device, leaving only what’s permitted in the Free tier.
Cookies
While our Service does not directly use cookies, the app incorporates third-party code and libraries that may use cookies to collect information and improve their services. These third parties may use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
Service Providers
We work with third-party companies and individuals for the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service through map integration
- To provide advertising services (Free Version only)
- To process subscription payments
- To provide cloud storage services (Pro+ only)
- To provide weather data (Pro+ only)
- To analyze app usage
- To assist in error detection and prevention
These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Subscription Management
For users who purchase Pro or Pro+ subscriptions:
- Subscription Administration: Your subscription is managed through Google Play’s billing system.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Google Play account settings.
- Billing Information: Billing information is processed by Google Play, not by Colored Pixels Studio. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but not your payment details.
- Data After Downgrade: If you downgrade from Pro+ to Pro or from any paid tier to Free:
- Any cloud data stored will be immediately and permanently deleted
- It is your responsibility to download or backup any data before downgrading
- We cannot recover cloud data after the 30-day grace period has expired
- All Pro and Pro+ related data will be deleted from both the cloud and your local device, leaving only what’s permitted in your new tier
- Subscription Changes: When you change subscription tiers, we process this information to provide appropriate access to features.
Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or request location data or any other personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at hellocoloredpixels@gmail.com so we can take necessary actions.

The Map Canvas app is available in three tiers, each with different feature sets:
Free Version:
- Address search
- Multiple map types
- Basic markers
- Single circles
- Edit positions
- Contains advertisements
- Does not support cloud backup
Pro Subscription:
- All Free Version features
- Ad-free experience
- Multi-circle groups
- Custom shapes
- Premium marker icons
- Collections
- Distance measurement
- Custom map themes
- Tasks management
- Image attachments
- Does not support cloud backup or weather information
Pro+ Subscription:
- All Pro features
- Cloud backup (200MB)
- Weather information (10 API calls per day, reset at midnight GMT)
- Manual backup & restore options
If you wish to access additional features, you may upgrade within the app through in-app purchases.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
For subscribers, material changes to the Privacy Policy will be communicated through in-app notifications when possible.
Your Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which may include:
- Right to Access: You may have the right to request copies of your personal information we hold.
- Right to Rectification: You may have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or complete information you believe is incomplete.
- Right to Erasure: You may have the right to request that we erase your personal information under certain conditions.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You may have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal information under certain conditions.
- Right to Data Portability: You may have the right to request that we transfer the data we have collected to another organization or directly to you under certain conditions.
